For those of you who have just opened a photocopying business, there may be one problem that often occurs with photocopiers, namely paper jams or paper stuck in the photocopier. Especially when it comes to A3 paper which is quite large. This problem is generally indicated by turning on the paper clock indicator on the display panel. Basically this problem is quite mild, but it can be annoying if it continues. Especially when you have tons of documents that must be photocopied immediately, paper jam is really annoying.

Paper jam problems can be solved easily as long as you know where the paper is jammed. Actually, what causes paper jams and how to solve it? Come on, see the explanation of the causes and how to deal with paper stuck in the copier.

How to overcome

How to overcome paper jams or paper jams on a copier will differ depending on where the paper is jammed. Therefore, understand the locations and how to overcome them. The methods are as follows:

  • Getting stuck in the heater (exit roll)

If paper gets jammed in the heater, make sure to remove the side cover. Open the handle located on the heater. Then, pull out the jammed paper. Make sure that after the paper is pulled, the cover on the exit roll is closed again.

  • Get stuck in the tray

Paper “jamming” in trays 2, 3, and 4 also happens frequently. Basically, the handling is almost the same. Remove the side cover, bypass cover and bottom side cover. After all the covers are opened, gently pull out the jammed paper. After the paper is successfully pulled, return all the covers that were opened to all positions.

  • Getting stuck in the duplex (back and forth)

The way to deal with paper jams on a copier in the duplex section is to open the side duplex cover and side cover. After each cover is opened, the jammed paper is slowly pulled out. After the paper is pulled, return all covers to their original position.

  • Get stuck on the transfer roll

The handling that must be done immediately when the paper jam is in the transfer roll area is to open the side cover. After opening the cover, gently pull out the jammed paper. Make sure after the paper is successfully pulled the cover must be closed again.

  • Got stuck in the ADF section

Paper problems stuck in the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) section of the copier also often occur. If paper jams in that area, open the ADF top cover and roll. Turn the wheel on the roll counterclockwise. After that, slowly pull the jammed paper in the direction of the wheel rotation. After successful, close the cover again.
